Life's Simple Seven

 
Cardiologists have come up with seven simple rules, dubbed Life's Simple Seven that can help cut one's near-term risk of heart disease. A five-year study indicates death rates for those that met at least five criteria were 55 percent lower. And for every additional criteria met, a person reduced by 15 percent the chance of dying in four years. The seven commandments are:

1. Incorporate a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of intense exercise in your week.
2.Obtain a body mass index of less than 25.
3. Be a non-smoker for at least a year.
4. Have a balanced diet.
5. Keep cholesterol below 200 milligrams per deciliter of blood.
6. Maintain blood pressure below 120/80 millimeters of mercury.
7. Have a fasting blood sugar level below 100mg/dl of blood.
