Look inside and see the good; look around and appreciate the kindness of your neighbor, the beauty of the world around you.

It's true! Studies show that people who have positive altitudes about life have higher levels of key "happy" chemicals in their bodies than do pessimists. This suggests that the more moments of merriment we have, the less our bodies produce harmful chemicals and toxins, and the less likely we are to get sick.

First in 1993, then in 1995 with Ed Diener, Ph.D., David G. Myers, Ph.D., reported that there are reliable predictors of happiness. According to studies, happy people tend to be more active and confident; they are optimistic, involved in close and satisfying relationships, and engage in challenging and absorbing activities at work and in leisure. They also have significantly deepened senses of faith, a reflection of the kind of hope they harbor.

But behind the biochemistry and studies on behavior, we know one thing; much of being happy is a choice, and we can make that choice. Life is too short to cultivate dark, heavy clouds that follow you wherever you go. Dry your eyes, shake the blues away, and trade that pout for a toothy smile. Celebrate life and be thankful!
The following are secrets to lives worth living. Listen to their measured and inspiring words.

1. FILL YOUR LIFE WITH JOY
A joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be a living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.

2. BRING THE RIGHT ATTITUDE
Attitude determines our happiness, acceptance, peace and success. Our attitude is the primary force that will determine whether we succeed or fail. For some, attitude presents a difficulty in every opportunity; for others represents an opportunity in every difficulty.
 
3. REACH FOR INNER DISCIPLINE AND BALANCE
Happiness can be achieved through training the mind. The fact that there is always a positive side to life is the one thing that gives me happiness. Balance is the key element of a happy life; taking care to avoid extremes becomes a very important factor in conducting one's everyday existence.
Happiness involves an inner discipline, a gradual process of rooting out destructive mental states and replacing them with positive, constructive states of mind such as kindness, tolerance and forgiveness.

4. MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY
I believe that happiness is being aware not only of the positive events that occur in our life but also that you yourself are the cause of these events-that you can create them, that you control their occurrence, and that you play a major role in the good things that happen to you.

You need to know what makes you happy. When you have identified what makes you happy, you need to know how to create such events. And there is a motivation required to put them into action. We need the sense of mastery, of control; the feeling that something good has happened because we caused it to happen.
 
5. BE CONFIDENT
Do your duty the best [way] you can. To lead a happy life, have a clear conscience and try to overcome frustration. Learn to accept that you are good and that from you a lot of good can happen.
 
6. SQUEEZE WHAT YOU CAN OUT OF LIFE
Be active. Do something worthwhile. Governments must try to create more employment, because everyone has the ability to contribute to society. Living a happy life doesn't have to mean that you be wealthy or rich. It means that you have basic guarantees.

You have to have access to good social services in health, education and housing. You must have good life skills to get the most out of life. Our educational system must help teach life skill s, and [you must] spend more quality time with your children and family. 7. SEEK THE TRUTH
Truth resides in the human heart, and one has to search for it there as to be guided by truth as one sees it.
 
 
8. BE CONTENT
Be happy with what you have, to live within your means, have a lot of good friends, and to travel light in life.

9. TOUCH OTHERS
Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace, contentment and joy in the world outside.
Remember there is no happiness in having or in getting but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug

10. FIND MIRACLES EVERY DAY
You have to take risks. We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen. Every day, God gives us the sun, and also one moment in which we have the ability to change everything that makes us unhappy. Every day we try to pretend that we haven't perceived that moment, that it doesn't exist that today is the same as yesterday, and [it] will be the same as tomorrow.

But if people really pay attention to their everyday lives, they will discover that magic moment It may arrive in the instant when we are doing something mundane, like putting the front-door key in the lock; it may be hidden in the quiet that follows the lunch hour or in the thousand and one things that all seem the same to us.

But that moment exists - a moment when all the power of the stars becomes a part of us and enables us to perform miracles.

Joy is sometimes a blessing, but it is often a conquest.
Our magic moment helps us to change and sends us off in search of our dreams. Yes we are going to suffer, we will have difficult times, and we will experience many disappointments, but all of this is transitory, it leaves no permanent mark. And one day we will look back with pride and faith of the journey we have taken.
