Anger : A Balancing Act

Grilled, charred, and fried meat may Increase the risk of breast cancer, according to the American Association for Cancer Research.

When meat is cooked at high temperatures such as when grilling, broiling, or frying, the substance PhlP

is produced. Studies showed that PhlP can weakly mimic estrogen which could harm breast tissue. Other researchers suggest that women who carry a gene that speeds up the activation of PhlP and compounds called heterocyclicamines are at greater risk for breast cancer.

While further studies are being done, opt for other cooking methods (for meat) such as braising and stewing.

If you still want it grilled, cook meat partially so that meat is not exposed to flames longer than usual.
